About Katy
Katy Mumford is an Ayurvedic bodyworker and holistic practitioner based in Topanga, California. British by birth, she moved to the U.S. at age thirteen and has since called the UK, Hawaii, New York, and California home. Her work bridges East and West — academic insight with ancient wisdom — and is guided by the belief that true healing unfolds through deep presence, rhythm, and relationship with nature.
Katy is currently studying at Hale Pule Ayurveda, deepening her understanding of Ayurvedic nutrition, lifestyle, and counseling under the lineage of Myra Lewin. She serves as a Panchakarma Therapist at Surya Spa under master healer Martha Soffer, where she practices traditional Ayurvedic therapies including Panchakarma, Abhyanga. and Shirodhara. Katy’s studies in Ayurvedic began with Dr. Vasant Lad at the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Her background weaves together over a decade of study with renowned teachers: Ashtanga Yoga with Manju Jois, Iyengar Yoga with Kofi Busia, Dharma Yoga with Sri Dharma Mittra, and a five-year evolutionary astrology apprenticeship with Steven Forrest. She also received mentorship from global spiritual teacher and energy worker, Mirabai Devi.
Katy holds a BA in Social Anthropology from the University of Manchester and an MA in Psychology from Columbia University, specializing in Spirituality, Mind, and Body Medicine.
Her work centers on embodied healing — an intuitive, restorative form of bodywork rooted in Ayurvedic principles, nervous system regulation, and somatic awareness. Deeply inspired by nature, she is devoted to creating sacred spaces — both physical and energetic — where people can restore balance, reconnect to inner wisdom, and return to wholeness.
